A Little About The Teachers...

Other Information:
- My family loves the outdoors! We like to ski, hike, bike, and play at the beach. I also like to snowboard, eat sushi, walk around downtown Portland, go out to eat, and watch comedies.
- I attended the University of Michigan for my undergraduate degree. My Master's is in Curriculum and Instruction in Integrating the Arts into the classroom from Lesley University.
- This is my fourteenth year teaching, my fifth year at Findley. I taught at Bonny Slope for six years (five years at 3rd grade and 1 year at 4th). I taught fourth grade in South Carolina at an Arts Based Curriculum school for three years before that.
- I also am the school's PYP Coordinator. My job in this position is to coach the school community through the process of becoming an international school!
- Professional responsibilities I also hold include: Consultant for other PYP schools, Workshop Leader for PYP trainings, Professor of Math Methods course for Oregon State University
Mrs. Pogue
My family loves to travel. I have two brothers and one sister who live all over the world! My brothers live in Vancouver and East Asia while my parents and sister live in Toronto. Being away from family is hard but we stay very close and talk all the time!

My husband and I met in college in Vancouver, British Columbia. We have two spirited kids - Graham who is 5 and Audrey who is 3. We love spending time together as a family and adventuring!

Other Information:
- I was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. After meeting my husband in Vancouver, Canada we moved to Portland! We love all of the beauty that surrounds us in the Northwest and enjoy cycling, golfing, going to the beach and traveling! Our son Graham just celebrated his first birthday! We love spending time with him!
- I attended Trinity Western University in British Columbia for my undergraduate degree majoring in Education. I completed my Master’s of Arts in Teaching from Pacific University.
- This is my seventh year teaching in Beaverton School District. I have taught third and fourth and fifth grade at Hiteon Elementary, started one school year in sixth grade at Stoller Middle School before moving back to fourth grade at Findley! Last year I was the half time PYP Coordinator at Findley.
- Teaching and learning is something that I am truly passionate about. I am dedicated to growing a love of learning within your child and am excited to partner with you this year!
